Project News

InSite Arts has been appointed by Land Securities to work with their project architects, BDP, on the Buchanan Galleries redevelopment project in Glasgow. InSite Arts is preparing a public art strategy which will inform a commissions plan which will invite artists to work alongside members of the design team to develop work in the context of this new development.

Multi Developments is investing in a new mixed use development in Wolverhampton, Summer Row, and it is anticipated that work will begin here in 2009. InSite Arts has been appointed to work with the design team and the masterplanning architects to commission a number of artist to create interventions within the public realm but also inform some key design features within the development. Opportunities for artists will be generated during 2009.

InSite Arts are supporting their client Umberslade Developments to commission a major artwork for their Bristol Development. This development Wapping Wharf, is adjacent to the Museum of Bristol and located near to Spike Island. A commission opportunity is being developed for an artist to develop a permanent work for the site during 2008 for completion in 2010. Umberslade are also supporting a small series of residency, temporary commissions in partnership with Spike Island. InSite Arts will be working with Spike in the delivery of these commissions. These projects will be additional to Spike’s normal programming and will in some way invite artists to consider the Wapping Wharf site as a starting point for research.

Multi Developments are soon to appoint an artist to join their project team to develop a research project and permanent work of arts, or series of works of art for their new Bath Southgate development. InSite Arts their commissions managers will announced the appointment of the successful artists during August 08
